Housed in an elegant palace designed by the renowned architect Michele Sanmicheli in the mid-16th century, the museum features an extraordinary collection of fossils from the Bolca site, as well as extensive zoological collections, particularly entomological, botanical, mineralogical and palaeontological specimens. It also includes a prehistoric section illustrating the earliest human presence in the Verona area.
It is also distinguished by its research activities, carried out through a collaborative network and with the contribution of a large group of naturalists who regularly work with the Museum. It houses scientific archives and a specialised natural history library. It also boasts prestigious collaborations, including activities throughout the local area, carried out not only in the Museum and schools but also in public green spaces, particularly the Adige Park, the Gallina and Borago Valleys, and the municipal parks and green areas of the Torricelle hills (Villa Are and Colombare).
