Located in the Palazzo della Ragione, whose construction began in the Late Middle Ages and which has been completely restored in recent years, the Gallery includes the artistic gem of the Cappella dei Notai (Notaries’ Chapel), dating from the turn of the 18th century.
The collections, established through donations from patrons including Ugo Zannoni and Achille Forti and subsequently expanded to include works of contemporary art, feature paintings by some of the most important Italian artists from the 19th century to the present day. The Gallery also houses scientific archives and a specialised library.
