The historical residence of Palazzo Belmonte Riso is located in the heart of the historic centre of Palermo and since 2005 has housed the Museum of Contemporary Art of Sicily.
Built at the end of the eighteenth century by Princes Ventimiglia di Belmonte, it is an interesting example of a private noble residence that combines late baroque magnificence with neoclassical rigour.

VISITING RISO PALACE
Palazzo Riso is characterized by two twin levels dedicated in part to the collection and also to temporary exhibitions that alternate periodically.
During the visit you can admire works by Accardi, Anselmo, Kounellis, Long and many other artists.
The interdisciplinary nature of the themes and languages, the promotion of the collection's heritage and the support of young artists have been the priorities that Museo Riso has pursued with the aim of networking creativity and broadening the horizons of action. In line with a global vision of contemporary culture, the Museum's spaces, the foresteria, the didactic room and the bookshop windows have hosted exhibitions and also music and theatre shows, conferences and cultural activities, alongside other venues such as the Coronation Chapel and the Albergo delle Povere.
An important driving force of Museo Riso is the Contemporary Art Desk of Sicily, S.A.C.S. which preserves and safeguards the memory of the activities of Sicilian artists organized in a paper, digital and multimedia archive.
