Sound in its technological dimension is the protagonist of the Casa del Suono: an avant-garde project in the artistic and technological field that was born from the collaboration of the Casa della Musica with the University of Parma.
The Casa del Suono, located in the evocative space of the former 17th century church of Santa Elisabetta, was created with the ambition to reflect on our way of listening and understanding music, and is dedicated to the general public.

VISITING THE HOUSE OF SOUND
The House is open to all those who today listen to music and sound transmitted by technological instruments. The proposed path starts from the history and evolution of these instruments to reach today's situation (from the phonograph to the gramophone, from the radio to the magnetophone, from the compact disc to the iPod) and take a look towards the future.
The Casa del Suono houses a precious collection of phone-producers, as well as structures equipped with innovative sound reproduction systems and services dedicated to scientific and artistic research, teaching and dissemination.
