The Archaeology Museum of Colfiorito, better known as MAC, is located in this little village in the municipality of Foligno which is also known for its lovely nature park.
A visit to the museum is a great opportunity to learn about the history of cultural development in this part of the Umbria Apennines, inhabited by man since prehistoric times.

ARCHAEOLOGY MUSEUM OF COLFIORITO. VISIT
The museum examines the Plestini civilisation, an Umbrian population that permanently inhabited this area from the Archaic period onwards because of its strategic location between the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian coasts.
The exhibition has around 1,450 artefacts relating to the Plestini people which represent proof of the cultural exchanges between Etruria, Magna Graecia and Greece. As you visit the various sections of the museum you will feel like you are stepping back in time: there are also reconstructions of some important finds from the area of the Roman city and the sanctuary of the goddess Cupra.
The Archaeology Museum of Colfiorito is a little treasure trove that conserves the history and civilisation of the Umbrian people. We highly recommend it.
