VISITING MUSEO CIVICO GIOVANNI MARONGIU
The museum exhibition takes you on a journey from Prehistory to the Nuragic society of the necropolis of Mont’e Prama, with the enigmatic and imposing anthropomorphic figures known as the Warriors or the Giants, and through as far as the Roman Age.
Your journey into the history of Sardinia begins in the pre-Nuragic and Nuragic period, documented with prehistoric materials from the village of Cuccuru is Arrius.
The section dedicated to the city of Tharros conserves relics from the Punic metalwork quarter and also worth a look is the amazing Wreck of Mal di Ventre, a Roman ship that sunk by the coast of Sinis near the island of Mal di Ventre, from which it takes its name, while sailing from Spain to Sardinia with a cargo of metal.
In Cabras you will learn about ancient civilisations which still have deep roots in a landscape of rare beauty.
