VISIT TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL AREA OF THARROS
Tharros was founded by Phoenicians around the 7th century BC in an area already inhabited during the Nuragic period. It continued to develop through subsequent eras until its abandonment in the early Middle Ages.
The ancient road network runs through the residential quarters, where Punic and Roman temple areas and thermal baths are visible. In the suburban area, the remains of a Nuragic village are located.
The Nuragic village of Su Murru Mannu; the Punic and Roman fortifications; the Punic temple of the semi-columns; the castellum aquae; the thermal baths no. 3; and the early Christian complex near thermal baths no. 1.
