The Volta Temple was inaugurated in 1928 during the centenary of Alessandro Volta's death. It was established with the intention of housing the original instruments and reproductions invented and used by the scientist. Commissioned by the entrepreneur Francesco Somaini, the Volta Temple is a neoclassical structure openly inspired by the Pantheon, designed by architect Federico Frigerio. In addition to instruments of scientific importance, the museum houses descriptive panels about the life of Alessandro Volta, as well as personal memorabilia, medals, and scientific awards.
