VISITING THE MUSEO TATTILE OMERO
Located in the spaces of the Mole Vanvitelliana of Ancona, the museum was created to make art accessible in every possible way, offering everyone the chance of a sensory experience in a museum context.
Formed in the early ‘90s with the aim of documenting the entire history of the material culture and the plastic arts, the collection has been enriched over time with numerous acquisitions and today comprises around 300 works.
The Museo Tattile Omero is an innovative and one-of-a-kind museum that helps you discover art by using your hands and senses. Here you will experience new sensations and unexplored emotions thanks to an “inclusive” journey of discovery into the history of world art and architecture.
On the second and third floors of the Mole Vanvitelliana you will be able to observe around 150 works: faithful copies and little models of great artistic and architectural masterpieces such as the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Venus de Milo and the Parthenon, as well as original works of contemporary art (by Arturo Martini, Marino Marini and Arnaldo Pomodoro to name just a few).

Train: Ancona railway station. Continue towards the centre of Ancona to the Archi area and the Mole Vanvitelliana complex.
Car: A 14, exit Ancona Nord: SS 76 direction Ancona, exit Ancona Nord and SS 16 (direction Ancona centro/porto). Follow the signs for the Port, Cruise Terminal Cruise Embarkation, Mole Vanvitelliana.
A 14, Ancona Sud exit: SS 16 and SS Nord Sud direction Port. Follow the signs for the Cruise Terminal Boarding Cruise Terminal, Mole Vanvitelliana.
Bus: from the train station: n. 1, n. 1/4 stop Archi area.
From the city centre, Piazza Cavour or Piazza Roma: n. 1,1/4, 22, 24, 42, 44 stop near Porta Pia.
FLIXBUS stop 500 meters from the Museum entrance.
Parking: free of charge about 200 metres from the Museum entrance for cars and coaches (Largo Fiera Pesca). Disabled people with motor disabilities are allowed access by authorised vehicle from the Mole Vanvitelliana complex to the Museum entrance. The Mole Vanvitelliana is paved with "sanpietrini" (cobblestone).
