The Rocca Roveresca in Senigallia is a significant example of fifteenth-century military architecture that incorporated pre-existing defensive structures.
Its full realization as a city fortress was achieved by Baccio Pontelli, who succeeded Laurana in 1480. He carried out modifications related to defense, as well as decorative elements for windows, courtyard friezes, interior spaces, and the spiral staircase that vertically runs through the north tower.
