Located in the heart of Trieste, the Revoltella Museum is a sophisticated gallery of modern art, founded in 1872 through the visionary dream of Baron Pasquale Revoltella.
With a generous bequest of his palace and art collection, Revoltella gave the city a museum that, by the late 19th century, was already exhibiting works by famous Italian and international artists. The collection expanded in the 20th century with the acquisition of Palazzo Brunner, which architect Carlo Scarpa transformed into an elegant exhibition space.
