The Museum of the Risorgimento in Trieste is not just an exhibition space, but a place where memory takes shape: photographs, documents, relics, and paintings recount the events and figures of the Risorgimento, from the uprisings of 1848 to the end of the Great War.
The Museum stands on the site where Guglielmo Oberdan was executed on December 20, 1882. In place of the Austrian “Caserma grande,” the current building was inaugurated in 1934, designed by architect Umberto Nordio with a space expressly dedicated to the Museum of the Risorgimento.
