- The following spaces are not wheelchair accessible: Battistero, first and second floor of the Museo del Castello, second floor of the Territorio, Scavi di Pyrgi, Casa della Legnaia, Torre Saracena.
- Access to the Torre Saracena is not allowed to children up to 6 years old, people with heart condition and pregnant women.
- Inside the village, only in the open spaces, dogs with a leash and muzzle can be introduced.
HISTORY
Constructed from the 14th century onwards on the ruins of the old Etruscan port of Pyrgi by the sea, the castle has a quadrangular plan and is fortified by towers and a moat surrounded by three concentric walls that also enclose a village and the early Christian church of Santa Severa. A wooden bridge connects it with the Maschio, a large cylindrical fortified tower.
