Known to the people of Biella as the "Palazzone," the headquarters of Banca Patrimoni Sella & C. was designed by Gaspare Maggia in the 1830s for the Major Seminary.
It was subsequently sold and transferred to state ownership in 1866. Leased to various tenants, from 1897 it housed Gaudenzio Sella & C., which purchased it in 1920. After various uses, it underwent a major restoration project starting in 2007, completed in 2011.
Today, it houses cultural spaces, open to the public since 2023, and a piazza-garden, a social space created by Banca Sella & C.
