The Civic Theatre Museum "Carlo Schmidl" is a living tribute to the theatre and music that have animated Trieste from the 18th century to the present day.
Among its costumes, scores, instruments, and stage memorabilia, every corner tells a story of emotions lived under the spotlight. Founded by Carlo Schmidl with his historical-musical collection, the museum was housed for decades at the Verdi Theatre and later at Palazzo Morpurgo. In 2006, it found its permanent home in Palazzo Gopcevich.
