The church of St. Francis Xavier, also known as the church of the Mission.
The first stone of this church was laid on May 14, 1665. For the construction of the building, designed by the architect Giovenale Boetto from Fossano, the houses on the southern side of Piazza Maggiore were demolished, along with six arches of the porticoes that originally surrounded the entire square.

The façade is in sandstone and is the work of Boetto for the lower half and of unknowns (perhaps Gallo) for the upper part. The external balcony, which helps to overcome the difference in level of the square, is by Pozzo.
