The exhibition offers a journey through a century of artistic transformations, tracing the path from 19th-century academic art to the experiments of modernity.
The exhibition, curated by Professor Vincenzo Sanfo and organized by the Belocal Association and the Municipality of Mondovì, with the patronage of the Piedmont Region, the Province of Cuneo, and Ascom Confcommercio Mondovì, explores the evolution of painting, graphics, and sculpture through the works of artists who shaped the history of art. From Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot and Gustave Courbet, pioneers of a revolutionary realism, to the great Impressionist masters such as Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Édouard Manet, and Camille Pissarro, the exhibition traces the artistic transformations of an era. It extends beyond Impressionism, delving into Post-Impressionism, Symbolism, and the early 20th-century avant-gardes, featuring works by Paul Cézanne, Paul Signac, Marie Laurencin, and other key figures of the European art scene. The exhibition brings together a selection of paintings, drawings, etchings, lithographs, and sculptures that document the shifts in style, technique, and artistic vision between the 19th and 20th centuries, offering visitors an immersive experience of color, light, and experimentation. "From Impressionism to Modernity" is a unique opportunity to retrace the extraordinary evolution of art between the 19th and 20th centuries: Through paintings, drawings, engravings, lithographs, and sculptures, visitors will immerse themselves in an era of great artistic and cultural transformation, rediscovering the fascination and innovation of timeless masterpieces.
