Reduced Ticket
- EU citizens aged 18-25 and Citizens of non-EU countries, subject to reciprocity (DM 9-01-2019 n. 13.pdf) - Please provide a link to this document if available. The age limit for this benefit is considered to have been passed on the day after the 25th birthday, as proven by an identity document.
Free Admission
The following categories are entitled to free admission, upon presentation of valid identification or proof of eligibility:
- EU tourist guides carrying out their professional activity (Circolare 20-2016 DG-MU.pdf) - Please provide a link to this document if available
- EU tourist interpreters accompanying a guide
- Ministry staff
- Members of ICOM (International Council of Museums)
- Teachers and students enrolled in the following faculties or equivalent courses in EU member states: Architecture, Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Education Sciences, Humanities with an archaeological or art history focus. Students must present a valid student ID card.
- Teachers and students enrolled in Fine Arts academies or equivalent EU institutions. Students must present a valid student ID card.
- Teaching staff (permanent or fixed-term contract), upon presentation of suitable certification from the school, following the model provided by the Ministry of Education and Merit (MIM).
- Disabled visitors and a family member or other companion who can demonstrate their membership in social-health assistance services.
- Volunteer association workers who, based on agreements with the Ministry according to art. 112, paragraph 8 of the Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code, carry out activities to promote and spread knowledge of cultural heritage.

The ticket will be personal.
When purchasing the ticket, each visitor must provide their personal details.
At the entrance, the visitor must show
- the personal ticket;
- an original identity document.
Access will not be granted if the data provided do not match to the identity document. In this case, no refund will be given.
Change of name for Tickets
A single name change is permitted for tickets purchased, either through the call centre or via the web by clicking here
The change must be made 24 hours before the day of the visit
Rules for School Tickets
No personal data tickets are requested for schools, it will be enough to show a list of students and their companions, stamped and signed by the school institute.
It will be mandatory to indicate the name of the school to which the booking refers.
Mandatory use of radioguides
For groups of 10 to 20 people included and for school class groups , the use of radioguides is mandatory. These can be hired at a cost of €2 per person.

Free Sundays and free admission days
On these occasions, no tickets will be reserved online. All visitors, individuals and groups, will stand in a single queue to collect their free ticket, with no personal data ,at the ticket office.

- From Tuesday 10th September until January 2025, the areas where the Castel Sant'Angelo café is located will be undergoing restoration and refurbishment. During this period, the cafeteria will be closed to the public, but will return with a brand new look from December.
- The cloakroom is not available.
- Animals are not permitted.
- From Tuesday, December 3rd, the ground floor ambulatory will be partially accessible to allow for the execution of PNRR works related to accessibility, which will last approximately 14 months.
Therefore, it will be possible to start the visit by accessing directly into the Dromos and proceeding with the usual route.
