The aerial walkway connecting the Uffizi Gallery to Palazzo Pitti is a thrilling journey, offering a discovery of the city from surprising and unexpected vantage points.
Built by Giorgio Vasari for Cosimo I de' Medici, the Corridor runs for about a kilometer above the city and the river, passing through private palaces, encircling the Mannelli Tower, overlooking the Church of Santa Felicita, and finally arriving at Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens. The ruling family used it to travel from their Pitti residence to the Palazzo Vecchio, undisturbed and secure from any harm.
