The house, of nineteenth-century origin, was purchased in 1975 by the Irish artist O'Doherty and his wife Barbara, for their holidays and to enjoy their free time, surrounded by nature and the greenery of the Umbrian region.
For many years, the "Painted House" has been open to visits by the public and tourists only thanks to the good intentions of two extraordinary tuderti guides, Elisa Picchiotti and Luca Antonini.

HISTORY
Surrounded by the magical atmosphere of Todi, two years after the purchase in 1977, Brian, also to realize the wishes of his wife Barbara, began to paint the house, transforming it into an extraordinary work of art.
The "Painted House", over the years has become a worldwide unicum, with all the walls frescoed with works by the artist and with the reproduction of the ancient Ogham alphabet, used in Ireland until the 7th century. The place, not only physical, where the love of the O'Doherty couple and their passion for Todi and for art found its maximum expression.
