The presence of foreign Academies and Cultural Institutes represents a unique aspect of Rome's cultural scene. Through a residency program, these institutions bring to the city each year a population comprised of visual artists, writers, composers, architects, choreographers, designers, historians, and researchers in the most diverse fields; a community that encounters and traverses Rome, creating a connection with its history and its places, rereading and reinterpreting them, weaving human and cultural relationships that are reflected in the artistic production that emerges during their residency period.
The Festival of Foreign Academies and Cultural Institutes in Rome intends to celebrate this connection, highlighting the inexhaustible source of inspiration that the city constitutes for the fellows, reaffirming its international vocation, and renewing the legacy of the Grand Tour, which for centuries saw the Capital as the fundamental place for the completion of the cultural and personal formation of generations of foreign intellectuals. Through a selection of fellows currently in residence and others who have already stayed in Rome, the project is articulated in an exhibition and a program of live events (performances, concerts, presentations), fostering multidisciplinary intersections also among the "residents" of the different institutions. Exhibition promoted by the Department of Culture of Rome Capital City and Azienda Speciale Palaexpo. Organized by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo in collaboration with the Foreign Academies and Cultural Institutes in Rome.
