Piazza del Plebiscito is dominated by the Royal Palace, an architectural jewel of Naples and witness of the centuries of history of this multiform city.
The Royal Palace of Naples was built to a design by Domenico Fontana in the seventeenth century, enriched in the eighteenth century by Luigi Vanvitelli and restored in the nineteenth century, when the monumental staircase was definitively rearranged. It is from this famous entrance that the guided tour begins, leading the visitor to the main floor, and to the rooms that house a continuous sequence of works of art, statues, tapestries and period furniture. It is a visit not to be missed if you really want to get to know a surprising city.
The Palatine Chapel is spacious and sumptuous.
