You can admire the remains of the imperial residence of the Severans, built between the end of the 2nd and the start of the 3rd century A.D.
In the area you will also find the ruins of the Amphitheatrum Castrense, the second Roman amphitheatre conserved after the Colosseum.
Don’t miss the inside of the amphitheatre, occupied by the vegetable garden of the monks of the nearby monastery, whose iron and glass entrance gate was designed by Jannis Kounellis.
