HISTORY
The Sanctuary was located on a stretch of the ancient Via Tiburtina and consisted of three spaces: the theatre, which exploited the natural dip of the land, a large square lined with porticoes, and the temple itself. In addition, a series of terraces, porticoes and columns created a striking backdrop to the religious site.
VISITING THE SANCTUARY
Inside the complex you can also visit the Antiquarium where you can admire some decorative elements of the temple, stelas and statues originally located along the porticoes that embellished the monument.
Your journey will finish with a visit to the “Canevari Tower” an ancient collection point of the waters used to produce hydroelectric lighting.
A trip to the Sanctuary of Hercules Victor is just one of the many absorbing experiences (Link to Villa Adriana) that await you in Tivoli. If you want to learn more come and see us and take part in our guided tours.
