VISITING THE ROYAL MUSEUMS The museum project unites different sections, all of great interest.
The Royal Palace, the ancient residence of the Savoy family, has been entrusted to the Superintendence for Architectural and Landscape Heritage as part of the Museums since 1955.
The Royal Armory, which houses more than 5,000 objects ranging from prehistory to the early twentieth century, among which one of the most important nuclei is constituted by sixteenth-century weapons and armor.
The Galleria Sabauda, established by Carlo Alberto in 1832, with important Italian and international works.
The Museum of Antiquities, with its various sections dedicated to the Collections and the territory.
The Royal Gardens, an urban green area unique for its monumental and environmental value, which extends over an area of about seven hectares.
The Royal Library, which houses over 200,000 volumes, ancient maps, engravings, and drawings, such as the famous "Self-Portrait" by Leonardo da Vinci.
The Chiablese Halls, mostly used for important temporary exhibitions.
The Chapel of the Holy Shroud, a masterpiece by Guarino Guarini, reopened to the public in 2018.

Train: from Porta Nuova Station. Cross Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and continue on Via Roma until Piazza Castello. From Porta Susa Station: take Via Cernaia and continue on Via Pietro Micca until Piazza Castello.
Car: From the highway exit or the ring road, follow the signs for the city center. The Royal Museums are located in a central ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) area. Private cars are not allowed on Via XX Settembre and Via Pietro Micca. In Via Po, Piazza Castello, and Viale dei Partigiani, access is prohibited from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Corso Regina Margherita and Corso San Maurizio are freely accessible.
