Museo del Vetro

this site is into circuit :

The site will be closed until a later date.

Located on the island of Murano, the museum is housed in the noble Palazzo Giustinian, former seat of the Bishops of Torcello. The collections are chronologically ordered: in addition to an archaeological section, which includes notable Roman finds from between the first and third century AD, it boasts the largest historical collection of Murano glass, featuring important pieces from between the fifteenth and twentieth century, including world-renowned masterpieces by such artists as Venini, Zecchin and Carlo Scarpa. The rooms are often enriched by the display of important temporary collections. The garden is worthy of note, and is often used as a strikingly beautiful setting for displays of contemporary glass.
