The Palace and the Tower Hall were built in 1462, during the reign of Ludovico I, as a representative buildings of Saluzzo who wanted to act as a true Renaissance capital.

In May 2005, the Old Town Hall was reopened to the public after a major restoration project that involved the exterior facades and interior spaces. On the first floor is the main hall that was the site of the Congregations of the kingdom, which has a coffered ceiling decorated with mythological, symbolic and heraldic dating back to the fifteenth century.In 2013 was inaugurated on the second floor, the art gallery dedicated to the painter Matteo Olivero, which displays 67 paintings, 17 drawings and two sculptures selected from the most significant works of the painter;  he did exhibition in Paris, Brussels and Monaco and from 1905 to 1930 he set up his own studio in Salita al CAstello, a short walk from the new museum.

From The Ancient Palace you enter the Civic Tower, from where you can enjoy a splendid view of Saluzzo and the entire valley.

Didactic tours

  • The package includes a proposal for activities and visits diversified: from classical guided tour, which aims to present the city and its museums, theme tours, related to the history and traditions of the territory.

    Tours and special openings can be carried out every day from 8 am to 7 pm.
    Booking is recommended for visits with own guide during opening hours of the site (totally free).
    Reservation is required for guided tours of the museum during opening hours or outside opening hours and for special openings. The application must be requested at least 5 working days in advance (applications which are made after that deadline could not be taken into account) at the IAT Tourist Office of Saluzzo: email | 800 392789
