An interactive and cross-media exhibition, which offers a real journey through time to discover the Palermo of the Belle Époque.
An exhibition created by CoopCulture in collaboration with Odd Agency in a space returned to the city! An exhibition itinerary that recounts a short but unrepeatable era in which Palermo, thanks to the push of an emerging and rampant bourgeoisie, was able to place itself at the forefront in the fields of technology, production and commerce. A period of great changes which between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century profoundly modified the urban structures, the economic vocation and the cultural life of Palermo. The exhibition takes place within the rooms of Palazzo Bonocore, a historic building that overlooks the monumental Pretoria fountain and the square of the same name, a stone's throw from the Quattro Canti and on the edge of the ancient Arab neighborhood of Kalsa. Palermo Felicissima is divided into five rooms within which the visitor will have the opportunity to live an immersive and unique experience.
Interactive archives, light books, immersive projections, virtual reality and artificial intelligence to take you on a journey to an extraordinary era.
Without hiding the fragility and contradictions of a city in transformation, Palermo Felicissima will celebrate the hopes of entire generations, the expertise of artists, artisans and architects capable of imagining the future, the courage of entrepreneurs who, often coming from distant places, found their fortune in a city that still knew how to offer opportunities to those capable of seizing them.
A journey through art and architecture, urban planning and customs revolutions, economic and scientific progress, the connections between world history and family stories, facts, events and legends that made those years unique and unforgettable.
