Special tour at dawn following the Gods in their temples
A real emotional performance in the stunning backdrop of the Valley of the Temples, where every day the Sicilian landscape blends with archaeology. A simple, but essential plot: during dawn walking down towards the upper part of the Valley, reaching the Concordia Temple when Eos with rosy fingers, who is in front of Apollo`s Sun chariot, is soaring with an almost imperceptible wing beat and rosing the pediment of the Temple. This deeply solemn scenery of the Valley of the Temple, which wakes up from the torpid night, will be sealed with different sensations in the mind of the audience: the smell of the wet ground in the morning dew, the call of birds of prey that slowly disappears leaving space for birds and the bark of dogs, the sound of leaves in the morning wind, the dark sky that becomes brighter tinged with purple. Within this magical frame actors and background actors play the role of gods, heroes, heroines and different mythological figures. They are all coloured with white colour looking like statues which come back to life in the darkness and perform alone or in little groups dividing the tour in different parts. Through ancient rituals, dance performances, pranks, litanies and declamation of verses from different works of famous and ancient authors, the visitors, guided by archaeologists and professional tour guides who outline step by step the performances, will reach in front of the Concordia Temple. It is an once in a lifetime experience within archaeology, myth and the magic of a living a dream.
The theatrical tour ends at the Temple of Concordia.
