Tours of the Flavio amphitheatre return with a classic route that, from edition to edition, year after year, offers visitors the atmosphere of great charm of the evening route of the Moon on the Colosseum.
The itinerary follows the levels of the monument and starts at the Cross with a presentation of the area before the monument was built, when the valley was part of the sumptuous Nero’s Domus Aurea.
Once on the arena floor the audience is given the opportunity to go down into the underground, where the whole complex system of equipment used to stage the shows is made evident and fully comprehensible, from the waiting rooms for gladiators to the recent reconstruction of a freight elevator for ferocious animals.
The route continues with a walk on the first level, from where visitors can admire the entire ellipse of the stands, and ends at the Valadier Terrace which, with the narration of subsequent monuments such as the Temple of Venus and Rome and the Arch of Constantine, ideally and temporally concludes the history of the most visited ancient monument in the world.
A suggestive lighting for a special evening visit to the arena, the basement and the upper terrace of the Colosseum.
A magical atmosphere is thus spread throughout the Amphitheatre's cavea.
