It is forbidden to access the monument with bottles and glasses containers, alcholic beverages and aerosols.

​NEWS​​​​

We inform you that starting from Monday February 18th  due to maintenance work on the external facade of the Coliseum, there may be problems with individual and group visitors' access points.

Our welcome staff will be available in order to provide visitors with the information and assistance necessary for an easy access to the monument.

​​OPENING RESERVATION
Pre-sales openings are scheduled on a quarterly, monthly and weekly basis.
Tickets are sold gradually, in order to avoid any form of early hoarding and to ensure availability as close as possible to the date of access. Pre-sales will be open every first Monday of the month at 9:00 a.m. according to monthly availability for   the Colosseum Arena, Underground scheduled time entrance, Underground tours for individuals in English, Belvedere scheduled time entrance . Pre-sales will be open every Monday at 9:00 am for Colosseum scheduled time entrance and Colosseum Arena for the following week according to the weekly availability.

On the free first Sunday of the month the pre-sale service is not provided, therefore all visitors will access the monument, from the ordinary entrance, along two different lines:
• visitors who need to collect free entrance tickets
• visitors who already collected free entrance tickets

  • Opening reservations April - June 2019

On Monday, February 25th at 9:00 a.m. it will be possible to pre-purchase tickets with scheduled entrance time for the ordinary access of the Colosseum and tickets with scheduled entrance time for the Colosseum Arena, both online and via call center. Pre-sales openings will be on a quarterly availability, for April, May and June 2019. On the same date and time it will be open the pre-sale for Underground and Belvedere, on a quarterly availability, for April, May and June 2019 but just online.
Pre-sales will be open every first Monday of the month at 9:00 a.m. according to monthly availability for the Colosseum Arena, Underground scheduled time entrance, Underground tours for individuals in English, Belvedere scheduled time entrance .
Pre-sales will be open every Monday at 9:00 am for Colosseum scheduled time entrance and Colosseum Arena for the following week according to the weekly availability.

Starting from February 25th at 9:00 a.m. it will be possible to book tickets for the Domus Aurea, from April 1st to June 30th 2019.

It is possible to book a maximum of 46 tickets a day for the Domus Aurea.
 

CULTURE WEEK AND FREE ENTRANCE DAYS
The archeological park of the Colosseum joins the Culture Week, scheduled from March 5th to 10th 2019.
During these days the access to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill will be free and without reservation, with the exception of schools, which can continue making free reservations and entering the Colosseum from the Stern Gate.
The free access during the Free First Sundays of the month will be now limited to the months from January to March and from October to December.
The direction of the archeological park of the Colosseum determined the following free days without pre-sale:
9th of May
5th of June
29th of June
23rd of September
4th of October
4th of November

It has moreover established the free entrance without pre-sale for the last Thursday of the months of May – June (30th of May; 27th of June) and September – November (26th of September; 31st of October; 28th of November) for the last 3 hours of opening of the sites.

 

SUPER TICKET
The SUPER ticket is valid up to February 25th 2019
From February 26th to March 4th, it will be possible to visit Palatine Museum, Neronian Cryptoportico, Aula Isiaca and Temple of Romulus with the regular admission ticket.
From March 5th to 11th, “Week of Culture”, the aforementioned sites will be closed.

 

FROM JANUARY 1ST 2019, THE ARENA WILL BE ACCESSIBLE FROM THE STERN GATE USING THE NEW TICKET "COLOSSEO ARENA" AS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE CLICK TOUR
The ticket "Colosseo Arena" will be available online, through call center and on site at a cost of € 14.00 for the full price and € 8.50 for the reduced price (the reduction is in accordance with current legislation).
The reservation fee will remain of € 2.00 for online purchases and through the call center.
The access procedures will continue to be the same as for the Click Tour.

 

FREE FEES FOR ALL BOOKING SERVICES, GUIDED TOUR AND ASSISTANCE SERVICE FOR TOUR GUIDES FROM THE EUROPEAN UNION
We inform you that, under art. 4 c.3 a of DM 507/97 ss.mm.ii., as well as under circular 20/2016 DG MU, according to the directions of the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum, tour guides from the European Union are entitled, in addition to free admission, also to free fees for all booking services, guided tour and assistance service.

 

THE ENTRANCE TO THE UNDERGROUND AND/OR BELVEDERE MOVED AT THE STERN ENTRANCE, IN FRONT OF VIA LABICANA
Groups have to show the list on letterhead from the agency, containing the participants’ names and dates of birth. Licensed tourist guides have to show a signed declaration with the participants’ names and related dates of birth. Visitors with a booked fixed guided tour have to show a valid ID card at the ticket office. 

 

FIRST SUNDAYS OF THE MONTH
The free access during the Free First Sundays of the month will be now limited to the months from January to March and from October to December.
​The reservation and pre-selling services are not available on first Sundays of the month.
